![]() The lowest rank in the game is E (0 EXP), with the highest being S (999 EXP). Military class - Just means what military rank the pilot has. But if they just defaulted to "Eh, ship it anyway.", that's just sad.Since this guy (Akahana from Mobile Suit Gundam) is at the top of the list, I'll be using him to explain what all those numbers mean. Hell, if they'd upscaled these few bits, I'd have understood. Upscales of missing footage I can understand. ![]() Of course, if that IS what they did, that really kills my faith in them. It seems to me that the most likely explanation at this point is that they don't want to admit that the digital master was damaged in some way over the past decade and rather than rescan the footage, since those short sequences would probably stand out due to being modern scans rather than ones done 10 years ago, they just opted to go with the damaged bits since it's such a short sequence that is impacted. Of course, it still doesn't explain then how I could magically have a sample of the remastered footage without those errors while they insist that the problem is there on the DVDs. If the problem got introduced at some point between whenever the Taiwanese discs were released and those G-Selection sets, that could account for their insistence that the problem exists on the DVDs. For a second I thought that they might be thinking of some other issue, but I gave them screenshots and timecodes the first time I e-mailed them about the problem.I wonder if they are looking at the G-Selection re-release set from a couple years ago. ![]() Of course, they stubbornly continue to insist that the issue exists on the DVDs. Hmm, I wondering if they're monitoring this thread, since they finally responded just a few hours after my above post. They're identical frames in each case, although obviously it's easier to see the dust and scratches on the BD caps. This is a BD only issue and the fact that they are lying about it is unacceptable.ĮDIT: Additionally, take a close look at the scratches and dust specks on those frames. So yeah, I'm sorry but there's no way this was an issue with the original transfer that has existed for the past 10 years. There's just far too much glitching overlapping the lineart on the BD compared to the DVDs. For the sake of proving I'm not just crazy, here's a cap of my DVD copy of the 2006 remaster and the BD cap.ĭVD - (I didn't correct the AR on this one but meh, it's not necessary) yeah, not buying that "it's been an issue since we originally scanned it" excuse from them (although nice to know 100% for sure they didn't rescan it). Buy used, watch, then sell on Yahoo Auctions.Missed this update as I've been busy as hell lately, but now that I've seen it. Probably won't buy any more new, at any rate. If they can't take responsibility for fuck ups like this, I might seriously be done with Bandai Visual releases. While the glitches only last for a second or two, they were still pretty noticeable to me, and are unacceptable on a 27000 yen box set. And to top it all off, I uploaded them to imagebam (man, I'm an asshole). Some degradation no doubt occurred in that process and one of the comparisons is probably not the same video frame, so make what you will of it. Note that I'm an idiot when it comes to screenshots, so these are literally captured in VLC and resized in MS Paint. Nothing breathtaking, but a clear improvement in detail. I also own the Taiwanese licensed version of the 2006 HD Remaster DVD box, so I made some comparison screenshots. ![]() This show has always looked very dark to me (even more so than other visually similar shows like Cowboy Bebop and 08th MS Team), so sometimes detail is hard to make out. I'm no expert when it comes to objectively judging video quality. The booklet is mainly interviews, but it does have all of the previous video release's box art in it (very small). ![]() Re: Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 - Stardust Memory BD-Box ![]()
